It has to be said that there were a fair few years when we tried to steer clear of WTB tyres, but recently they seem to have really upped their game. We tried out their Vigilante tyre last year and were pleasantly impressed. They’d managed not just to come up with a good tread pattern, they’d also managed to create a decent rubber compound, and all of this was based on a casing that managed to strike a great weight/strength balance for hardcore trail riding or enduro racing. Anyway, it looks like WTB might be continuing that good roll with this latest Warden 2.3” tyre. Once again the casing feels like it’s up to taking some stick without being too heavy, and tread wise we think this looks like it could work a treat in the kind of grotty conditions that we are oh so used to in the UK. Definitely a tyre we want to get hold of, and hopefully it won’t be long until it’s available in sizes other than 26″.
