The final bit in this part of our Core Bike coverage is this new cut-down spike tyre from Maxxis, which is rather aptly named the ‘Shorty’. Quite why it has taken Maxxis so long to bring out a tyre like this is anyones guess, cos cutting spikes down is a ball ache at the best of times, and yet we all know just had good a tyre like this can be. We wouldn’t be at all surprised if this one turns out to be a bit of a classic.
