Over the past 25 years, ODI has made some of the world’s best grips for ATV, BMX, fixed gear bikes, motocross, snowmobile, road bikes and mountain bikes, and its proprietary compounds have been tested by many of the world’s top riders to ensure comfort and longevity. All ODI products are produced in the USA in the company’s own facility in Riverside, California.
Its range of innovative MTB grips includes a series using the Lock-On system, which changed the way in which grips are installed and secured to the handlebars and still remains the worldwide standard for grips. The current Lock-On series features collaborative models with Vans, Troy Lee Designs, Yeti and SDG, plus a downhill-specific model designed by Intense Cycles with raised logo pad for shock absorption and half-waffle pattern for improved traction and control.
Also in the MTB range are a series of grips using Dual-Ply design, which, the company says, gives better bar adhesion and longer grip life – models include the soft compound Yeti Hardcore, another downhill model from Intense, and the extra soft Cush. In the Single-Ply range is the Sensus Freeride grip, designed by Red Bull Rampage champ Cam Zink.
Apart from Zink, other leading off-road cyclists to use ODI grips include Aaron Gwin, Brian Lopes and BMX, mountain bike and ultra-distance legend David ‘Tinker’ Juarez.
There is also the ODI Street Crew featuring BMX riders including Larry Alvarado and Tony Malouf.
