“You can’t beat a Lock–on”. These Odi Lock-On Grips come highly recommended…

When Johnny E brought his bike in to the office so that we could photograph his Hammered RockShox forks and shock I asked him if he had anything else on his bike that he had ridden into the ground. “Chain device…that’s been in…errr”. Then I noticed that there was something black and sticky, slightly resembling a shredded Formula 1 dry tyre, on the end of his handlebars…his grips. “What the hell are those” I asked. “Those Mikey Boy are almost the best £20 I have ever spent”. Now I have seen plenty of worn out grips in my time but these have to take the prize for ‘most worn out grips ever’. They were literally gasping for air, barely holding on to life, but like a good, worn pair of jeans or shoes that have moulded to your feet these grips were at their peak of performance (actually they may have just tipped over the edge of life).
Jonny rides a lot and the half waffle lock–ons (actually they are the Ruffian MX Lock–On) have been on his bike since around 2007. Gummy, super tacky, nailed, worn through, but still plenty grippy. As Johnny put it, “you can’t beat a Lock–on”. Highly recommended.
