It was another tour de force from Rachel Atherton as she crushed the rest of the women’s field in qualifying. Her time of 5:29.322 was a full thirteen seconds than Tracey Hannah in second.

Crashes reigned supreme in the women’s field though and we’re pretty sure both Tahnee Seagrave and Manon Carpenter went down. That left third place open for Myriam Nicole to snatch on 5:49.817.

Manon managed to recover fourth despite the spill and Emilie Seigenthaler rounded out the top five.

Tahnee’s time of 6:17. 658 left her well back down the pack but we’ve no doubt she’ll make it back up tomorrow.
