Yes, wheels are more complicated than they have ever been with the current range of diameters on offer but hopefully we can help. You might be asking carbon or aluminium, and yes it’s a big question but before that you’ll need to start thinking wheel size, rim width, spoke count, weight, price range and of course the options of tubed and tubeless. In the small selection we’ve managed to cover everything from downhill to trail and enduro in both 27.5” and 29” wheel sizes. We’re still experimenting with the new 650+ sizing (although you will see such a size in the bike section here) but you can bet come next year there will be at least one wheel and a couple of tyres in that size on this list. In terms of weather specific its pretty much wet or dry condition options here and downhill or trail casings. Don’t underestimate the value of a fast pair of wheels and a sharp set of rubber.
