The Kali Avatar II is certainly a helmet that does a very good job of standing out from the rest. Let’s start with the ridiculously low weight. At 780g, this helmet is a country mile ahead of the competition in terms of weight. You can forget about a heavy helmet rolling about on your head in the rough stuff. This makes it the full-face helmet of choice if you’re going to be wearing it for extended periods. Venting is impressive even at low speeds, making this one of the comfiest helmets on offer. Safety-wise, Kali are taking care of you in a very different way to the competition. A fully in-moulded foam liner ensures you head is fully controlled during an impact, while unique ‘crumple zones’ deal with the job of dissipating the load of the crash. Another bonus to in-moulding, what Kali call ‘Composite Fusion Plus’, is a visibly smaller helmet that in turn helps achieve this low weight. The removable light or POV camera clip is a well-thought addition, which simply slides under the peak and snaps into place. Fitting or removing a light or camera has never been easier. Size ranges are good, going from the small to the very large, which should ensure you find a good fit, especially with the supplied pad kit.
