O'Neal

Founded by Californian Jim O’Neal, the O’Neal company was one of the pioneers in MX clothing when the sport was beginning to grow in the 1960s. Jim’s sons Jim Jr. and Keith discovered a passion for mountain biking in the 1980s, just as the sport was establishing its roots on the west coast, and their father’s company quickly branched out into helmets, jerseys, shorts, gloves and protection for all types of two-wheeled off-road sports.

All O’Neal products are tested by its pro team riders including downhill and enduro legend Cedric Gracia from Andorra, British slopestyler Lance McDermott, Catalan all-rounder Andreu Lacondeguy, and South African Greg Minnaar. There is also a roster of national O’Neal riders, including Jakub Venci, Dominic Amberger, Jack Reading, Danny Sorensen and Matt Scoles.

Minnaar’s signature range of products features the Element FR jersey and shorts, as well as knee and elbow guards. Gracia has a signature knee and elbow guard, called the Sinner. There is also a full range of half shell helmets and downhill full-face helmets including the Backflip, Fury, Oozy and Spark, many of which feature the excellent Fidlock magnetic closure system.

For many years, O’Neal has been at the forefront of technical innovations in the field of mountain bike protective wear, and one if its latest developments is its groundbreaking SC-1 protection foam – O’Neal products with SC-1 protectors include the Hellraiser jacket, the Magnetic vest and the Impact back protector.
