Giro have a long history of producing brilliant full-face helmets, from the Mad Max and the Remedy, and now, the all-new Cipher. Giro’s new offering sports features that only helmets of twice the price offer, they really have done their homework on this helmet. Five sizes might not be as many as some other brands offer, but Fit Kits are available and ensure you can fine tune your helmet to fit you perfectly. At 1180g for a medium, it would be almost impossible to find a new full-face lid that weighs this little for less. Don’t think Giro have skimped on safety however. The fibreglass shell has custom injected inserts to sit better with eyewear and neck braces as well as internal channels to vent the air through from the forward-facing vents, towards the back of the helmet. Brow vents ensure your head remains cool no matter what and are an inspired touch. Even if you do end up sweating into it the antibacterial, removable padding ensures that it won’t stink, and when it does, you will be able to get them clean easily. Built in speaker pockets and cord stays mean you can listen to music while riding, but the really neat addition is the integrated POV camera mount, which fits Contour and GoPro cameras.
