At 45mm long this stem technically doesn’t fit the bill, but we felt it was too good to rule out for the sake of 5mm. It offers a great strength to weight ratio and a quality finish, all for a decent price.

This one’s not light and isn’t adorned with fancy machining, but the combination of a good dose of material and a forged construction means that this stem is probably the strongest here. BoXXer red is hard to beat too.

With its Top–Lock bar clamp and exquisite finish this is every bit as good as you’d expect from something carrying the Easton name. If you can live with an extra 5mm then the alternative Haven (at 55mm) is a fair chunk lighter and still plenty strong enough for most riders.
