Based in Lincoln, UK, Superstar Components buys mountain bike parts from factories around the world, and retails them direct to the customer, cutting out the middle man. Among the huge range of Superstar-branded items are custom wheelsets, brakepads, hubs, rims, disc rotors, pedals, headsets, bottom brackets, grips, chainrings, chain devices, singlespeed gear and quick-releases.

Since the company was founded in 2011, highlights of its selection have been affordable disc brake pads and a good selection of flat pedals, including the ULTRA Mag CNC – made from drilled-out CNC-machined magnesium with hardened custom alloy pins for a total weight for the pair of 310g, these are surely one of the lightest flat pedals in the world.

Another stand out in the range is the selection of handlebars, which includes the Descent 780-25 model, designed for downhill and all-mountain riding. CNC bent and butted, and weighing just 345g, the Descent is manufactured from aerospace-grade 7075 aluminium. Also in the same range of AM/DH bars are the Collective 780-25, the Flatland 780-12, the Highline 780-40, and the super-wide Yardstick 915-25.

In 2013, it was announced that Superstar Components would also be launching a in-house designed, UK-made range of components, starting with pedals and bashrings, and then moving on to chainrings, headsets and bottom brackets. Already on offer are the Essex-made super-strong, lightweight Inject bashring, and the Dreadnought CNC pedal, milled from solid 6061 aluminium billet for maximum strength.
