Win a free Lowdown MTB Guide to Europe!

Superstar photographer Victor Lucas is in a right old festive mood (that’s a good mood) and is giving away a free copy of his new iPad App the “Lowdown MTB Guide to Europe” to one lucky Dirt reader.

All you’ve got to do (I say all, but it looks a bit tricky to me, unless you know your Euro bikepark onions!) is identify the three European Bike Parks below and tell us in the comments.

If you’re struggling like me then Victor has given us a few clues, I say clues, they’re only clues if you enjoy the pain of a cryptic crossword.

“…these are all in Europe (duh) , but they’re not all in the Alps! Jones is chasing a flaming Zebra. And Rowan just got off the Bergbahn.”

In case you’re wondering what this “Lowdown” thing is then here’s Vico’s word on the essential guide:

The Lowdown MTB Guide to Europe is a new iPad App that will be ideal for anyone exploring new places to ride, planning a riding vacation, or just looking for a visual taste of Europe’s best riding spots. This is an interactive destination guide that caters to all types of mountain biker – from the Downhill and Freeride resorts of the Alps, to Enduro rides in the Italian Riviera and on to the best Trail Centers in the UK and Ireland.

The highlight of the App is an extensive gallery of over 250 of the best photos from the archives of Victor Lucas, culled from 10 years of following the World Cup circuit and visiting a wide variety of MTB locations during that time. The App uses the iPad’s map and GPS to find your location and show the riding locations around Europe. Each location is reviewed in detail, giving the juicy inside information on what the riding is really like in these places – along with a gallery of high quality photos. Links to bikepark websites and local guiding companies will help you plan your trip. Star riders and racers weigh in with their opinions on their favourite destinations for the best biking action.

The app will be available on iTunes in November 2012, check out www.lowdownmtb.com for more info.

The locations are places that Victor has visited over the last ten years, the app will constantly be updated as Victor visits new locations and will branch off to the whole of the world at some stage.

The app integrates the iPad map function to give precise locations.

Each loacation comes with a variety of photographs, so it will be possible to get a feel of the place. It also includes information about where to stay and what the place is like.

There is also a very useful grading system of each type of riding in each location. (Pictured above.)
