The 10 Best Mountain Bike Suspension Products of 2014

Cane Creek’s Double Barrel shock raised the bar when it was first introduced to the market, and this DB Air with Climb Switch is also right up there.

CANE CREEK DBAIR CS

When it was first released the Double Barrel was the first rear damper that really opened our eyes to just how good a shock can be. Invest the time in setting one of these up properly (it’s not rocket science) and you can be rewarded with something very special indeed.

Composure is the name of the game here. The air DB is definitely the best of its kind, but due to the different progression of the air spring we think you’re better off with the coil version with certain suspension designs, in particular VPP. Either way, one thing we’d definitely recommend is the new ‘CS’ Climb Switch. Unlike other levers of this nature this one works on compression and rebound circuits rather than just compression, and the difference is remarkable. You have a bike that climbs like a dream, and suspension that still works properly too.
