YT Capra CF Pro review
The verdict of our most recent YT Capra review went something like this…. “A monumental spanner in the works for this enduro test. We knew it was coming, what we didn’t know was quite how brilliant it would be. It is one of the most significant developments in mountainbiking for some time….It’s a bike up for anything whatsoever. It delivers A star on pretty much everything, from specification to geometry or performance or pricing and visually it wins the game before you hit the trail. It blows everything out of the water by a mile, no other bike gets anywhere near it.”

Clearly some big talking. So what’s changed since that review of a year ago? In short nothing….but lots more. Since its launch no bike seems to have grabbed the imagination of riders around the world as much as the Capra, certainly not since bikes like the Santa Cruz Bronson or Nomad. But it’s better than either of those bikes in so many respects. But not just those colourful Californian bikes – nearly every other 160/170mm offering on the market.
All systems go
The success rocked the company such was its demand after its launch. Today, it’s very much the go-to all-round bike of many riders, certainly here in the UK – if you can get one. Once it was the Orange Five that ruled UK trail/enduro riding but now it’s the YT. Riders have pushed up in travel and reduced weight at the same time to ride increasingly tougher terrain. Now there’s more travel, better componentry for starters, and why buy a 33lb 140mm travel bike when a 170mm Capra weighs in under 30lb? Well you’d be crazy too that’s why!
