If any bike looks set to be the thorn in the YT Capra’s hoof it could be this one. Commencal have made some great bikes over the years, World Cup-winning ones, but this is what Max Commencal describes as “one of the best bikes we have ever made.” It’s difficult to argue with that statement for the new V4 is light, with great component specification, superb geometry and comes in at a price that is very, very hard to match. We also like the fact that it’s not carbon which is a statement in itself. The first Meta of seven or eight years ago was a classic, the V4 is even better being bigger, lighter and faster.
