O'NEAL FURY
O'NEAL FURY
Another contender for the budget crown. O’Neal have been producing fantastic, entry-level downhill helmets for years, and the Fury is no different. At £89.99 it is by far the cheapest full face mountain bike helmet here, but still offers a sensible weight, good fit, a range of sizes and some features that you wouldn’t find on helmets twice the price. At 950g, this is no heavyweight and for the price is truly hard to beat. With sizes ranging from Xsmall to Xlarge, you would be hard pushed to find a Fury that didn’t fit your head, and with all the pad kits fully removable, sweat absorbing and washable, you can tailor your fit and keep the lid fresh. Venting is good, with the Fury sporting several per side, ensuring your head is kept from boiling on those long downhill runs. Visibility is superb, regardless of whether you run goggles or not, with very little of the helmet edging into your peripheral vision. O’Neal’s patented FidLock magentic closure system makes strapping up easy, yet the closure is as secure as any other. If you’re on a budget, or can’t justify a remortgaging your house for a full carbon lid for one week of the year, then look no further than the O’Neal Fury.
