We have been fans of the ROCKSHOX REVERB for a long time now. I think it is safe to say that dropper posts have revolutionised the riding experience… no more stopping to drop your seat on the downhills. Of course there are plenty of brands out there that make droppers, and even though the the Reverb has had a few reliability issues, it has been the ‘go to’ for many people.
You can read the press release below, but the main news is that the Reverb now has completely new internals and is available with a massive 170mm drop (Stealth only)… that is almost 7″! That is big. And that the redesigned internals come with a new SKF internal floating piston and improved seals. RockShox are also obviously keen to show the world their ‘surgically clean’ production facility for the Reverb, because they have supplied us with a full gallery of spotless images! Here’s the low down from RockShox on the new Stealth (normal Reverb is similar, it just has less options):
New Guts, New Glory
Don’t let its familiar good looks fool you—Reverb is a whole new weapon. Its internals have been completely re-engineered to improve on its already legendary performance and to offer enhanced reliability: all the smallest details, down to the single seal, have been re-evaluated and updated to pass the hardest and longest durability tests.
Additional bushing overlap also improves performance over time, while new 150- and 170-millimetre travel options are available to tame even the gnarliest of descents. This is the brand-new Reverb, engineered for the next-generation mountain biker.
