Rachel Atherton Wins the Women’s World Cup in Lourdes

British domination with a one, two, three

Rachel Atherton has taken the win at the first round of the 2016 UCI World Cup out in Lourdes, France by almost four and a half seconds.

The course was beaten up to hell, very physical, greasy and sticky in places (but drying). It was a Brit whitewash with Tahnee Seagrave in second and Manon Carpenter in third. We should also point out that both Atherton and Seagrave broke the four minute barrier (if there was one) and that Rachel has now won 27 World Cup races… YEAH 27! Great stuff.

1. Rachel Atherton: 3:50.383
2. Tahnee Seagrave: 3:54.855
3. Manon Carpenter: 4:00.641
4. Tracey Hannah: 4:03.974
5. Emilie Siegenthaler: 4:12.191
