Just the right amount of flex and stiffness required of the bigger wheeled bikes
The RV1 is not a fork that plays regularly in terms of men’s World Cup downhill podium positions but it can certainly participate in some of the nastiest terrain without any fear. Bigger than a Rockshox BoXXer but smaller than the Fox 40 on the stanchions the 36mm RV1 HLR fork has impressed us greatly since it was introduced a few years ago.
It’s a beautifully made fork with good engineering integrity. Adjustability wise the fork follows a similar path to the Fox 40, with high and low speed independently adjustable compression and rebound adjustment, and also has pressure release valves to neutralize the internal pressure build up. The seal drag on the RV1 is minimal and out on the track this leads to a sensitive ride characteristic.
