The Fox 36 Float FIT RC2 and more importantly its predecessors arrived in 2005, changing the face of trail bikes forever, its 150mm travel meaning bigger, faster, stronger – a fork that could be used for charging downhill like no other single crown fork before it. It has never looked back.

Well actually that’s not totally true, it looked sideways for a few years at its weaker yet apparently eminently more marketable stablemate the 34 – but you can read that rant elsewhere.
The 36 has never gone away though, it simply got put on the back burner to the pathetically underpowered early 34 especially when the industry moved from 26” wheels to 27.5” ones. You could get a 160/170mm 36 but only in 26” wheel size when it seemed the whole wide world had moved to 27.5”. The professional team racers complained of the lack of muscle and it was no surprise whatsoever when they finally re-launched the new Fox 36 a couple of years ago.
