Being first down the mountain at Red Bull Rampage is no easy feat. The eyes of the world are on you as you take the leap into the unknown. You want to start the show with a bang but the nerves are tingling through your body – especially as nobody has tested the conditions first.
There’s probably no safer pair of hands in big-mountain riding than Darren Berrecloth though and he kicked off the show with style. Claw took the Impassable Route down but thankfully he’s no stranger to steep and gnarly. He even threw in a tuck no hander and a 360 down at the bottom.
The run scored Bearclaw a 70.66 and 11th place, granting him automatic qualification for next year.
