Except, it’s not just any derailleur is it? Totally legit, totally unused and totally gorgeous. This Paul Components Rasta derailleur isn’t just a piece of history, it’s a piece of art and it’s on sale on eBay right now.

If you’re into retro parts than this is undoubtedly a gold mine. There was a time when this was the ultimate cycling component. For a small time in the mid-90s, Shimano fell out of favour with the mtb community and small, American boutique brans such as Paul Components rose to the fore.
In the face of Shimano’s faceless churn of components, brands like Paul created quirky and beautiful kit. This was a true Leicester story, the little guys punching way above their weight against mega corporations. This derailleur is a prime example of the kit they were making and isn’t it a peach?
Before long Shimano got their act back together and their domination of the groupset market resumed, but that doesn’t make this any less desirable.
This becomes even rarer thanks to the fact it’s in mint condition. Look how shiny it is! Surely if you bought it, you wouldn’t sully it with dirt… would you?
Here’s what the seller had to say: “You are looking at a vintage NOS Rasta Paul Components mid cage rear derailleur. Once in a lifetime find. ~20 year old time capsule that never touched a bike frame. Hand made in USA. Amazing.”
