Danny Hart and Myriam Nicole went fastest in timed training in Vallnord today – and, because we love to stir the pot, they both did it after switching back to 27.5 inch wheels.
Hart was joined at the top of the results sheet by Troy Brosnan, the two are clearly on form after both winning Crankworx downhill races in the past few weeks. Third went to Amaury Pierron, this was no fluke, the boy was looking rapid on track all day. Greg Minnaar posted the first 29er on the timesheet as he sprung a late run to sneak in fourth. George Brannigan (who has also swapped back to 27.5inch wheels) was fifth.
In the women’s event, Myriam Nicole was fastest by 1.1 seconds from Manon Carpenter. A bit further back was Tahnee Seagrave who will be keen to carry on her momentum from her first World Cup win in Leogang and a BDS win in Bala. Marine Caribou was fourth and Alia Marcellini pushed a returning Rachel Atherton into sixth, 16 seconds back.
In the juniors, Finn Iles was the class of the field putting at least seven seconds into the chasing pack of Matt Walker, Joe Breeden and Brage Vestavik.
