2014 Windham World Cup | Full Qualifying Results

THE brits nearly get a clean sweep

Well that was a hell of a qualifying session! The track in Windham has just seen all three categories go over it and the times are tight as expected, not super tight but this is qualifying so things could come in closer tomorrow.

JUNIOR MEN

Luca Shaw has been going fast all season, this shot from Leogang shows just that

In the Juniors series leader Luca Shaw took the 50 points prize home and extended his lead in the overall ahead of Loris Vergier. There was a new name in the form of Thomas Estaque from France in second who was followed by up and coming rider Ferran Jorba Prats in 3rd. Loris came over the line in 4th place and Atherton Racings’ Taylor Vernon into 5th, there was just over a second separating the top 5 riders and after that the gap went to three seconds and increased to over 5 seconds by 10th place.

ELITE WOMEN

Not the best season for Rach but she is back on form at full speed in Windham

After Emmeline took the Timed Training session by storm it was down to Rachel to make up that 1.2s gap and push herself for some much needed points in the US. She did just that and finished up qualifying fastest ahead of Ragot in second and Tracey Hannah in 3rd. Series leader Manon Carpenter is back in 4th but with her taking the fastest time through the speed trap she could well be saving something special for race day. Either way it’s going to be a great race and the Women’s title race is a great one to follow.

ELITE MEN

Ratboy hauling in practice ahead of team mate and mentor Steve Peat.

After qualifying then winning in Leogang Ratboy went on to win qualifying in Mont Sainte Anne and land a second place come race day and now he has gone and done it again at Windham! First place for Josh here seeing his edge closer to series leader Troy Brosnan. There is going to be some speed coming from these boys tomorrow, could we see Josh going into the last race of the season wearing the leaders jersey? I’m calling it, no pressure Bryce!

Coming off some more climbing results Danny Hart went second quickest in timed practice less than a second off Gee Atherton who could only manage 15th in qualifying today. Aaron Gwin was less than a second back in Josh but at home he will be looking for the win with added gusto. Fellow American Neko Mulally posted his time into 3rd spot which is an amazing result, well deserved for such a talented rider. After his crash in practice Troy Brosnan doesn’t seem to have been effected too much, 2.412s back but still within reach if he opens the taps up like we know he can. Loic Bruni is still chasing that elusive podium top step and he came over in 5th to round out the top 5.
