The dates have been set for the 2013 Schwalbe Euro 4X Series…
The Schwalbe Euro 4X Series is back for 2013. In the third year that Schwalbe will be the title sponsors, the series will run over 3 rounds on some of Europe’s best 4X tracks.
The Euro 4X Series was created 4 years ago to provide a vital step for riders between National events and the World Cup Series. The 4X ProTour has now replaced the World Cup Series, but the Schwalbe Euro 4X Series still provides a vital learning ground for riders to gain experience and race at international events before taking on the ProTour.
2012 Champions Scott Beaumont and Katy Curd are already confirmed to be back to defend their titles in 2013. Tomas Slavik, Joost Wichman, Mechura Brothers, Felix Beckeman, Lucia Oetjens, Anneke Beerten and Celine Gros will all be fighting for the overall title.
However, as mentioned, this series is not just about the stars of the sport. It was created to give riders a great opportunity to sample international events, without the pressure of World competitions. The atmosphere is always relaxed and the pro riders will all be on hand to offer advice and help to new riders in the series.
In 2012, over 250 riders took part in the Schwalbe Euro 4X Series and in 2013, we are confident that we will get many more riders at these fantastic tracks.
So here are the rounds for 2013:
Round 1:
The opening round will be in Winterberg, Germany. The permanent track in Winterberg Bikepark, provided an awesome opening round in 2012 with super close racing and action from start to finish. As one of Europe’s biggest Bike festivals, it was an easy decision to take the opening round to this popular track. The Facebook page for this round is here.
Round 2:
Round 2 will be held at Harthill in the UK and will take place one week before the 4X ProTour round in Fort William. Harthill is a high speed track in central England that will be awesome after some track changes taking place this winter. As one of the UK’s best race tracks, this venue will provide a great event for the series. The Facebook page for this round is here.
Round 3:
Round 3 will be held in Leibstadt, Switzerland. Without doubt, one of the finest 4X tracks in the World. With it’s permanent Bensink start gate, huge clubhouse and massive LCD tv’s in the clubhouse that show all races live, this really is a great venue that all 4X riders should visit. The Facebook page for this round is here.
There are many ways that you can keep up to date with the Schwalbe Euro 4X Series.
