Some people think this is a weightloss program, or even an alcohol awarness lesson, it’s not it’s Victor’s five photos from Mont Sainte Anne on race day.
Victor Lucas has been very busy today, he told me he took 1300 photos today. We reckoned that worked out at about 1 every 30 seconds for 12 hours, try that at home on your polaroid.
The cream of the crop will go to magazines, but he’s let me have a rummage through his left overs to pick out the top five.
So here are the 5 most relevant shots from today.
For somebody that was airlifted to hospital at the British National Champs a week earlier Rachel Atherton did a good job of spanking the opposition here at Mt St Anne.
Shortly after winning the mens downhill at Mont Sainte Anne with a time of 4:30.57, Greg Minnaar was involved in a running battle in the pits which involved lobbing plastic bottles of banana flavoured liquid at other teams.
World Champion Melissa Buhl captalised on Beertens misfortune and powered to the win.
Rafa Alverez is great to interview because he just talks in Spanish, he could be saying anything but most probably he says things like “I’m so happy to win here today, that Spanish omelette I had for breakfast set me up real good for the race today”
This was one of the most random things I’ve seen at a World Cup. Moments before the podium presentation began the first brigade of the National Canadian Cheer Leading squad took to the stage and began wanging each other skywards. I reckon the riders should do this at all podiums. Give me an “F” Give me a “U” give me a “CK-OFF”.
