Lenzerheide World Cup 2016: Danny Hart wins men’s race

What a run!

Danny Hart has won his first ever World Cup at Lenzerheide, five years after he won the World Championships in Champery. The two tracks could not have been more different, but Hart showed he is the Swiss master on the course that will be used in next year’s World Championships.

It seemed that Aaron Gwin would run away with his fourth win of he year as a crash in qualifying meant he went down early and had a long stint in the hotseat. Only Minnaar was able to get close – within one hundredth of a second at split two – until Hart’s final run of the day. Hart seemed to have thrown it away but pulled back a second in the final two sectors to finish first by less than a tenth of a second.

Minnaar finished third with Remi Thirion and Connor Fearon mopping up the podium places.
