The first results of the 2016 Mont Sainte Anne World Cup are in and it’s Troy Brosnan and Rachel Atherton that have clawed their way to the top of the pile.
Many riders topped 70kph (45mph) over the course of the afternoon showing just how terrifying a prospect this track really is. As always timed training means very little but it’s worth having a quick scan through the lists to see who’s letting off those brakes on this monster of a course.

Troy Brosnan was the fastest of the men on the mountain today but it’s great to see Bruni bouncing back straight into second. The rest of the top five is locked out with Brits as Gee, Hart and Fairclough find their form early.

It’s no surprise to see Rachel straight to the top of the standings with Carpenter second. Mariana Salazar Palomo and Marine Caribou will be happy with their placings but they are over 40 seconds back. Tahnee remains a threat as she didn’t put a full run together.
