Rachel Atherton laid down a storming run to decimate the rest of the women’s field in qualification. Her time of 4:42.466 was a full 12 seconds faster than second placed Manon Carpenter and makes her a pretty safe bet to take the win tomorrow. It seems that Tahnee Seagrave had a problem on her run though so maybe she could provide a threat come race day.
Miranda Miller was the surprise package of qualifying as she got within 0.2 seconds of Manon on home soil. Tracey Hannah recovered from her nasty fall yesterday to finish fourth and Morgane Charre was fifth.
