Fort William Day 1 Pits

Yesterday’s sense of general quiet-ness gave me a chance to have a gander around the pits and see if there was anything worth having a quick look at. There was some great stuff, and here’s the best of the new products and gossip….

1st off, Rachel Atherton says shes recovering after her recent shoulder op. The only complaint from her was how bored she is these days, and shes been considering dying her hair pink to combat the boredom. She must be bored!

The Mick Hannah and the rest of the GT team have some awesome new paint jobs on their bikes for the Fort. Here they are.

Mondraker had this super slick prototype bike on show, which should be out around 2010, but with some slight changes to the tubing. It uses a system that looks a lot like a DW link to an untrained eye, but look closer and see that the shock joins onto the lower link, meaning the shock will be compressed from both ends. The bike looks great, and is mega light, looking at around 35lbs for an ultra lightweight build. The geometry looks good too. Can’t wait to see one in it’s production guise.

John Lawlor has done this to his hair. Why? No-one knows, but it does look pretty cool. He might have just been as bored as Rachel Atherton….

And here are a few others from the day….
