Following the success of last year’s event, Chicksands will be hosting its second mini downhill race this Sunday 29 March. I’ve whacked a few details below, but if you want to know more, check out the links. I guess the main thing you need to worry about is getting up in time, as I just received an e-mail from event organiser Chris Roberts reminding me the clocks go forward an hour on Sunday.
There are currently over 180 riders signed on to tear it up over the short 30-40 second course, including a number of Pro-Ams. Sixsixone, Royal Clothing and Sunline will be providing prizes to the top three finishers in each category. The track isn’t the steepest in the world, but if you go at it flat out it rapidly becomes a hell of a lot of fun.
For those of you that haven’t been to Chicksands before, there’s a load of cool stuff to ride, such as the national level 4X track, the Dual Slalom, Snake run and Bull run. Check out the pics below.
