The track is on the other side of the hill from the waterpark so is a bit isolated. We rocked up today for a look around, the place looked quite empty with nobody in the pits yet, a digger shifting stuff around and a few sweaty carpenters building some wood stuff.
I walked as far up the track as my flip flops would let me, which was about half way, then the tape stopped so I wasn’t sure which route to take. The ground was soft and wet in places.
A few points of interest, some lovely rock sections up at half way, steep and slippery slabs too. Theere’s a 15/20ft step down with a shady run in and a landing that sees you threading the needle between two bar clippingly tight trees. That takes you on and through a tunnel, yep, through a big ol’ steel pipe. A finish line booter kicks you on to the 4x final double. It’s a big leap of about 40ft, more of a hip really cause you’ve got to bank it over to the left for the finish.
Oh, and we spotted this retro beauty. She’s a GT LTS thermo plastic job. Did Peaty used to race this back in the day?
