Winter is dead, long live summer!

The sun is shining and the trails are dusty up here just now. Ive finished with that skiing nonsense for another year just back from a last wee snow fix in France was good fun but now its back to business on the track and there is a lot too do before opening weekend on the 12th May.

So this week and last we’ve been cracking on with the more general fixing of the track sorting out all the bits that got washed out in the winter . Nothing real exciting yet but once the helicopter has dropped all the new surface material tomorrow (Thursday) everything should be sweet and I can crack on with the more fun stuff shaping jumps and re-shaping some sections.

I was out riding the new XC sections on Monday and Tuesday night there good fun the very top bit at the top of the blue crane still needs a bit of work but the middle and lower sections are ready to ride. There’s a good flow to it with a couple of small tech rock features. I did think one or two of the corners where a bit tight but I was going a bit fast and a bit sideways round them.

I was down in Birmingham at the weekend for the national bike show helping Mike and Lesley out. Doing promo stuff for the world champs. They have a nice big caravan with a plasma tv and a rake load of bike dvd’s including the world champs promo video. If you havn’t seen it go onto youtube and search for ‘UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships 2007’

If you want to help out and volunteer at the worlds fill out one of the forms on the website www.fortwilliamworldchamps.co.uk ASAP closing date is next week.

Have I said world champs enough?
