Champery 4X update

Well, work here in Champery has been pretty challenging, hence the lack of updates. The weather has been pretty hot and sunny, but we’ve also had some massive thunderstorms and a lot of rain. The water has got into the dirt and we’ve got some pretty sticky sections. I’d like to say these were planned, in order to add some of the “mtb” factor but no, they’re not intentional! We’ve now got a covers system that would rival that of the Wimbledon ball boys so things are drying out nicely.

Next challenge has been shaping nice jumps out of the dirt we’ve been given. I use the term dirt in the loosest possible way. Boulders would be a more apt a name. We’ve put some rock sections in, as in Vigo, but to balance it all out there’re some smoother jumps near the bottom. Anyway, yeah it’s been tough, but we’re getting there and it should make a decent race track and a good show for the public.

I got the chance to walk the DH track the other day too. Man, it is so steep! It’s the toughest looking DH track I’ve ever seen. Whoever wins this race will, without doubt, be the best rider in the world. Sounds stupid but it’s that tech. No skills = no win here. Some other World Cup tracks will be made to look like IMBA cross country tracks by this one. Should be amazing to watch for the public and TV

Any other stuff? Well, if you’re coming, sort your accommodation out asap. It’s pretty much full already. I’m currently staying in a b and b where the woman won’t stop calling me Steffan. Very odd.
