Ace photographer Geoff Waugh has been working on his gargantuan ‘Dirty Jerseys’ project for some time now.
The book isn’t quite ready yet but you can buy this amazing Shaun Palmer ‘Summer Job’ poster. Here’s what the #dirtyjerseys crew have to say:
“OK, it’s happening-the 4th in the #dirtyjerseys poster series is live. This edition features king of mtb attitude, Mr Shaun Palmer’s Fox kit from Cairns 1996 plus ltd edition print of the man racing the 96 Worlds final.
Snowboard legend Shaun Palmer had been racing mountain bikes for a little over a year when he rocked up at the World Championship in Cairns, Australia in 1996. According to the maxim sewn on the backside of his MX jeans mtb was a ‘Summer Job’ not to be taken too seriously. But inside Palmer was burning for a win. His second place finish, just 0.15 seconds behind the winner Nico Vouilloz has gone down in mountain bike legend. And here’s your chance to own a part of it for posterity.
The A2 poster, shot by Geoff Waugh Photos, depicts the actual cut and muddied Intense Fox kit worn by Palmer when he was riding the famous ‘Minjin’ track. Combined with the poster will be a 10 x 8 in photographic print of Palmer in his World Championships run, signed by the author Geoff Waugh. Part of the proceeds from sales of the poster and print will go to the Ride for Michael charity campaign, set up to aid fallen mountain biker Michael Bonney.”
