This new G3 guide simplifies MRP’s designs and we think it is perfect for the modern downhill or enduro racer as it’s lighter, stronger, simpler and more convenient than previous incarnations. The bash-guard and roller are now unified in one unit which forms the smooth lower lines of the G3, and this both saves weight and makes the device far less susceptible to breakages or bolts coming loose. The option to either run a jockey-wheel or smooth plastic slider on the lower guide means that both tastes are catered for (MRP reckon the slider works better in really muddy conditions), and the ‘Swingset’ which allows the lower assembly to be swung open at a pivot point makes accessing your chain and cranks a whole lot easier. We think this is the smartest chainguide by MRP yet and its user-friendliness is genius.
