Even at their full width of 780mm the latest Protaper bar from Answer still only weighs in at under 340g – testament, perhaps, to the carving and shaping that has gone on to make these bars with as little material as possible whilst still retaining every bit of strength.
Answer also definitely win the feel stakes; we love the eight degrees of backsweep and four degrees of up-sweep, it just gives that distinctive ‘Protaper’ feel that has been so loved throughout the history of downhill racing. There are only two choices of rise,12.5 and 25.4mm, so those looking for a serious height boost on the front of their rig may be put off, but the rest of us need look no further.
