Founded in 2001 in Alicante, Spain, Mondraker offers a full range of off-road bikes, including downhill, freeride, enduro, all-mountain, trail, all-mountain hardtail, cross-country and BMX models. Many of its models now feature the groundbreaking Forward Geometry concept and Zero suspension system.
Among the highlights of its range is the Summum, the work tool of the MS-Racing Mondraker team and winner of the Downhill World Cup in Val d’Isere, and the all-mountain 27’5” Foxy, conceived almost a decade ago and completely redesigned for 2014. Also new for 2014 is the enduro Dune XR with 160mm rear wheel travel and minuscule 10mm stem.
The MS-Racing Mondraker team competes in UCI events on the mountain bike circuit. Since its formation in 2004 by Markus Stoeckl and Lukas Haider, Mondraker team riders have won a number of World Cup podiums in downhill and 4X, many of which came in the 2008 and 2009 seasons when the brand joined forces with the Subaru MTB Pro team, comprising Fabien Barel, Florent Payet and Damien Spagnolo.
Making up the MS-Racing team for 2014 are Spagnolo and Austrian star Markus Pekoll, plus young British riders Andrew Dorrit and Innes Graham. There are high hopes for British junior champion Graham in particular, who is still only 16 but has speed and style in abundance.
