Up front a full factory Float Fox 34 or RockShox Pike delivering 140mm travel is paired excellently with a Fox Float or Cane Creek Double Barrel air on the rear, although we feel the Fox rear to be a better combination than the Cane Creek rear unit which sometimes suffers with reliability. Great when it works but often a frustrating can these days. Shifters, brakes and cassette from Shimano XT are arguably the best of the range from the big S as is the Sram Guide. A great drivetrain from Race Face or Sram gets the power into the back wheel, some neat Ergon parts around the control points and of course RockShox Reverb Stealth for getting the seat up and down when the trail dictates.

The point in all of this being whichever of the top end bikes you choose you’ll not be going wrong. Canyon has become synonymous for no weak parts.
On the trail the Canyon Spectral CF 9.0 goes about its business well with great angles and that impressive specification. But more than this for many people the way a bike looks is still of significant importance and something many companies have yet to figure our completely. Canyon have most certainly addressed this and their bikes are both superbly crafted and beautifully finished.
