URGE ENDUROMATIC

This Urge might not offer any fancy adjustment system to tailor the fit, but the simple different thickness pads offer lots of comfort and they’ll never break. The heavily piss pot influenced design also provides a huge amount of head coverage, and although it might not have too many vents they still do a good job of cooling. The unbreakable peak is particularly nice touch, as is the ‘Gangsta Pad’ at the front which sticks out below the helmet to help any absorbed sweat evaporate.

SCOTT GROOVE II

It might have a bargain price tag but don’t for one minute think that this Scott lid is anything less than quality. It has an in–mould construction along with a decent adjustable fit system, which even offers two different vertical positions for a fully tailored fit. It’s massively vented too, which no doubt helps to produce such a light lid, but to retain strength Scott have moulded a polyamide frame inside the main body of the helmet. You even get a helmet bag thrown in too.

FOX FLUX

At 405g the Flux is the heaviest helmet here, but that doesn’t really bother us as it kind of brings a reassuring feel with it. That feeling of protection is increased even further by the deep coverage at the rear and you feel like you’re properly ‘in it’. Styling is also a key factor with the Flux because we reckon Fox have done a great job in that department. Throw in a good retention system and a sensible price tag and the Flux just looks even better.
