If you’ve been in it since the early days of mountain biking, then you’ll remember that Answer have been a key player in handlebars since the start. The Hyperlite, Taperlite and soon after the Protaper bar all adorned the best bikes and was the go-to upgrade right back into the early 90s. Here was a handlebar that had the best shape and a great feel, a winning combination. The ProTaper SL handlebar is bang up to date. With custom builds around a carbon enduro frame becoming commonplace, riders are looking for good dimensions, low weight and high strength, all from a bar that will be comfortable over a long day stage racing or out on the hill. Combined with the correct stem, stiffness needs to be right for the job too. All in all that’s quite a list. The ProTaper SL is up to the job and ticks all those boxes.
