After putting together a special bike for Steve Smith last year their short travel DH has been refined into Devinci’s latest offering for the Enduro market. Their brand new Devinci Spartan Enduro bike and it’s being launched here at the Tweedlove round of the Enduro World Series in Peebles, Scotland.
The Spartan has more travel than the Troy from Devinci and is also slacker with a lower BB height, it’s defintiely aimed firmly at the downs over the ups. Here’s the run down for you.
GROUNDWORK
165mm rear travel with 160mm up front
Aluminium frame with carbon seat stays (possibly a hint of things to come?)
27.5 wheels
Chromag cockpit
Rock Shox Monarch Plus, Schwalbe tyres and Rock Shox reverb on all models in the range
We haven’t had chance to ride the Spartan yet but this is squarely aimed at Enduro racing, it’s aluminium which bucks the current trend in Enduro bikes but there is talk of a carbon production bike in the future.
Small 4’11” – 5’7″ | Medium 5’6″ – 5’11 | Large 5’10” – 6’1″ | XL 6′ – 6’4″
Small 152 – 171cm | Medium 169 – 180cm | Large 178 – 187cm | XL 185 – 193cm
The Spartan comes in four sizes and has some adjustable geometry so you can tweak it for your style or riding location. Done by flipping a chip in the carbon seat stay you get 0.8° slacker head angle and a BB dropped 8mm.
Numbers
With 4 sizes to choose from there should be something to fit most riders, in it’s low setting the head angle sits at 65.8° and BB at 337mm. Here’s the full breakdown in both Hi and Lo settings.
