After a bit of a topsy–turvy period of UK distribution Rotwild bikes are now back on these shores. Their range includes everything from carbon XC whippet hardtails right up to a full–on DH bike, and this particular bike is their E1 enduro offering. Despite having a substantial 175mm of travel team rider Ritchie Schley classes this as his ‘do everything bike’ and reckons it’s perfect for gravity enduro style races as its four–bar suspension design means it pedals superbly. At £5499 this ‘Edition’ version carries a mighty price tag but it does come fully tricked out and there are cheaper spec’d models as well as a coil shock version. We particularly like the way Rotwild give customers the opportunity to upgrade certain components, most notably the seatpost to a RockShox Reverb. Hopefully we’ll see the German brand stick around in the UK for a bit longer this time because Rotwild have always made quality bikes and we’ve had a bit of a soft spot for them ever since the old days when they were big on the UK race scene.
