We’ve got a triple Kokanee Crankworx assault coming at you this year.
Dirt Columist Seb Kemp (Whistler Diaries) will be beaming in a daily wry look at Cranky. Big Ron and Big Job will be filming the action as it happens for DirtTV. Welsh 4x/pumptrack/bmx track builder Jason Carpenter is out there chaperoning his superfast daughter Manon, the pair of them are racing Cranky and will be telling their story.
Here is Seb Kemp’s Dual Slalom story:
Wonder child turned man, Kyle Strait, clean beats Brian Lopes in the Dual Slalom at Crankworx. He took his bear hold to the throat of Lopes and beat him fair and square in both runs of the Pro Mens final. Kyle Strait takes home a giant comedy cheque which can be exchanged for beer tokens at any Kokanee bar in town. Maybe. Johannes Fischbach was third after beating Neko Mulally in the small balls final. In the ladies, Kintner licked Griffiths…in the Pro Womens Dual Slalom final. Meanwhile Micalyo Gatto finished off Melissa Buhl…to end up third and fourth respectively.
The Dual Slalom was the first of the events in the Kokanee Crankworx this year. A packed town was entertained all day with the razzamataaz of the worlds biggest mountain bike event, feed with free samples of energy bars, and of course, Monster energy drink. which this year comes in the new flavour
The competitors were all far too focused to indulge in such frivolities, especially when they have the funnest Dual Slalom course to ride. Tight, smooth and with endless pumps, it was like spending a romantic evening with a FleshLight. Unknown trail soldier Andrew Gunner designed and built the course and should be a in a bar getting beers bought for him right now as thanks for making the stuff of riding dreams a reality. or a wide awake nightmare for some competitors.
Thats it for now. Tomorrow we have the Super Mega Uber Downhill Race.
Which is known as the Monster Energy Garbanzo Downhill by its sponsors and race directors. 15 minutes plus of straight up going down.
