Mavic Trans Provence 2014 | Prologue & Day 1

Trans Provence 2014

The prologue stage of the Trans Provence 2014 kicked off over the weekend and gave the riders a taste of what’s to come over the next six days. Talking to Anka Martin and Jerome Clementz in the video they both have a pretty relaxed approach to the race and for similar reasons. Anka and Jerome have both been injured this year and riding the TP is one hell of a way to get some time in on the bike with friends in some pretty stunning scenery.

There might only be one race in the Enduro World Series left but the Trans Provence is back for another year to give riders the chance to battle it out over 6 days across some of the best riding France has to offer. It’s good deal for riders, for 10,000m of climbing they get half as much again going down. 15,000m of descending over the 300km course means there is plenty to keep the riders interested, even if riding starts at 08:45 each morning for the first wave of riders and finishes around 5pm.

The first day is done and the table is topped by Francois Bailly Maitre in the Mens race and Ines Thoma for the Women. Jerome clearly isn’t hanging about and is only a few seconds back on Francois for second with Anita Gehrig and Anka Martin landing 2nd and 3rd in the Women’s race. Here’s the race video from Day 1 and the results are below too.
