Rachel Atherton wins women’s in Lourdes

The Atherton train steams on

Rachel Atherton has won her 14th consecutive World Cup and 16th consecutive elite race in Lourdes.

She ‘only’ qualified third but put in a stellar run on the new Trek downhill bike to finish two and a half seconds up on Tracey Hannah. Top qualifier Tahnee Seagrave could only manage third on the day with Myriam Nicole in fourth and Manon Carpenter fifth.

The women managed to avoid the rain but it has started to spit in the finish area.
