Alexandre Fayolle wins Lourdes World Cup

A truly bonkers race

Alexandre Fayolle won the Lourdes World Cup and in doing so became the first Frenchman to win on home soil in twenty years.

It was a rain affected race with the predicted storm hitting halfway through the event. By the end of the race the storm had made the track practically unridable and it was more a case of survival than racing.

After qualifying in 52nd, Fayolle went down in dry conditions but take nothing away from his time, it was on par with Loris Vergier’s top┬átime from yesterday. He takes away his first win and the first World Cup win for Polygon.

Fayolle on the Wall

Second place went to Mark Wallace on his first outing for Canyon and third to Marcello Gutierrez. Florent Payet and Connor Fearon rounded out the podium.
