Victor Lucas brings us his seven Swiss gems from Friday at the World Champs in Champery
Aaron Gwin went fastest in timed runs by over 5 seconds. Simply incredible. The guy is like a unstoppable freight train, and nobody can figure out how to stop him. Sort of sounds like that terrible movie with Denzil Washington, except way more watchable!!
Emmeline Ragot was second fastest in timed runs... She won here last year in the mud, and if the weather forecast is right, she could be in for another mud bath on Sunday.
The Danny Hart whip machine was on high speed spin cycle yesterday, 2nd in timed runs and busting out massive whips on every jump.I think maybe at this stage he's forgotten how to do a dead sailor...but if he can keep the wheels in line and close to the ground, Sunday could be a big day.
With all its sketchy moments, this track rewards the brave and punishes the timid. Big time gaps are the result and Rachel Atherton came in with a solid 5second gap ahead of the rest of the women.
Intro hip-hop beat - Its a bike eater, wisdom cheater and a body beater...Along with many others, Team USA are suffering on this gnarly track...[audio:http://cdn.coresites.factorymedia.com/dirt_new/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Team-USA.mp3|titles=Team USA]
Michal Prokop is back on form with fastest qualifier and a consistent night of racing through dark woods. The final was mayhem with all 4 going down in the first corner. Graves punctured and Prokop was up first and led the train of destruction to the finish.
Anneke Beerten has been chasing the rainbow jersey for some time, and tonight she made it all come together with a series of solid races. She was pretty emotional on the podium.
