Monsieur Lucas brings us his seven French firecrackers from the first day of practice at the La Bresse World Cup.
"It's been four weeks since the last World Cup, everybody has been having a great old time, riding, free-riding, national champs and for sure a few summer parties. But now its back to school, there are just two races to go, there are World Cup points to be fought for and of course it's raining again." Victor Lucas
Troy Brosnan has been killing it this season, and the SRAM guys gave him a little something that might help even more...[audio:http://cdn.coresites.factorymedia.com/dirt_new/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Troy-brosnan.mp3|titles=Troy brosnan]
There are 223 riders in the men's category this week, and the last 2 pages of the start list are fairly well stacked with juniors, many of them French riders getting possibly getting lined up for the Worlds. But even though the La Bresse track is short, its certainly not a gentle introduction with a start ramp firing riders straight into a huck-to-flat followed by G-Out suspension breaker... Jordan Doig sucks it up.
Sabrina was second fastest today and she's in a similar situation to Gee in the overall - currently running 3rd, she needs all the points she can get for a chance at the overall win.
This week we have a Mystery hucker, in the 40 minutes I was at the new rock garden today, this was the ballsiest huck to flat-lander I saw. Actually this is a pretty easy guess, and if you get it right Billy will cook you up a nice Croque Monsieur for lunch.
Unfortunately we have no CG today after he injured his knee at the French national champs. But his Columbian team-mate Marcelo Gutierrez Villegas has been flying the flag and pinned his way to 2nd fastest in timed training today.
Gee Atherton is gagging for it....Well he's definitely gagging for a World Cup win, not sure about other things - with only two rounds left he needs a perfect result to be in with a chance of the title. Fastest in timed training today for Gee.
Floriane Pugin is just 100 points behind Tracy in the overall, so she will be giving it everything on a track that probably suits her. She was fastest in timed training by a fair old way.
