We had an interesting box arrive yesterday, Jonesy almost ran into the office when he saw it sat on his desk!
It turned out the mystery package contained a new shock from Cane Creek, its a revised version of the Double Barrel. The official release isn’t until Sea Otter but we can give you a sneak peak now. Here’s what the Double Barrel’s Product Manager, Malcolm Hadley, had to say:
The new Double Barrel will look almost the same as the current version but the internals have been updated allowing the largest tuning range ever offered in a shock (we are our only competition now anyway!). With this new version we will be able to cover a low leverage ratio bike say 2.3 up to a 3.67 ratio. A huge range, allowing riders to go where ever they want tuning wise all with only external adjustments. Very trick!
Your shock is Pre-production, there will still be some more changes to come on the bottom out bumper ,spring collar and spring clip. I wanted to give you hint of what we are doing here. (Things to come.)
